Can we walk on our new Insulated patio roof??

Updated: Jul 13

We get asked all the time. Can we walk on our new Insulated patio roof?

The answer is YES, unlike other lightweight single skin roof options you are able to walk on your new Insulated panel roof, however there are some rules of the game!!! Bondor® states “You are allowed a maximum live load of 140Kg per m2” for both Solarspan® (Ridge Panel®) and Insulroof® (CorroPanel®). This allows you to be able to be on top of the roof to screw down, install flashings and guttering and any other trims needed, rather than trying to lean out to fix these off. A “Live load” is a movable load, i.e. a person walking. It is always advised that the minimum number of people access the roof on any one time, and only walk on the pans of the roof only, and not the ribs. This recommendation applies only to the span of the roof, and not the overhang/ cantilevered section of the roof. Bondor® also recommends a maximum 15Kg per m2 for dead loads, i.e. solar panels. But always check with the supplier of these items for install tips and guides
